Ranthambore: Ranthambore is a national park located in Rajasthan, India. It is renowned for its rich biodiversity and, in particular, its population of Bengal tigers. The park’s varied terrain, which includes grasslands, forests, and lakes, provides a unique habitat for diverse wildlife, making it a sought-after destination for wildlife enthusiasts and photographers. The ancient Ranthambore Fort within the park adds an extra layer of historical intrigue to the natural beauty.
Day 1. Arrival – New Delhi
- Arrival in New Delhi by international flight. Reception and assistance by our representative. Transfer to the hotel. Overnight stay.
Day 2. New Delhi
- Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to old Delhi, doing orientation around old Delhi area, walking outside red fort, Chandni chowk street and stop to visit Gandhi’s memorial raj Ghat, this beautiful park is where the cenotaph is located consisting of a black marble platform indicating the place where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated after his assassination. We will continue our tour through New Delhi. The government buildings, the Gate of India, a triumphal arch built in stone and with a height of 42 mt., which contains the names of the 90,000 soldiers of the Indian Army who died during World War I. Panoramic tour of the parliament area and the president’s residence. Later, visit the Humayun Tomb The 16th-century tomb of the Mughal emperor Humayun is the first of the great masterpieces of Mughal architecture. Built entirely of red sandstone and marble, the tomb shows considerable Persian influence. It introduced high arches and double domes to Indian architecture. Finally, we will see the Qutub Minar, one of the oldest monuments of the first city of Delhi, since its construction began in 1199. This complex is characterized by combining Hindu styles with Islamic elements. Its minaret, or minaret, is the highest in the world, reaching a height of 72.5 mt. arranged in five layers of decreasing diameter. At the foot of the minaret is the Alai Darwaza Gate, made of red and yellow bricks, which was once the entrance to the mosque. Also here is the tomb of Sultan Iltutamish and the mausoleum of Imam Zami. Return to the hotel and overnight.
Day 3. New Delhi-Jaipur (270 kms, 05 hours)
- Breakfast at the hotel. Departure by road to Jaipur, arrival and transfer to hotel. Jaipur, the pink city that owes its nickname to the color of the sandstone with which the buildings of the ancient city were built. The pleasant design of this villa is due to the maharaja Jai Sigh II who began its construction in 1728 and who got his architect Vidyadhar Chakravarty to successfully mix styles as diverse as Hindu, Jain, Mughal and Persian. In the afternoon we will visit Birla Hindu temple. Accommodation.
Day 4. Jaipur – Amber – Jaipur (14 kms, 30 min.).
- Breakfast at the hotel. Excursion to Amber Fort, the ascent will be on the back of an elephant (subject to availability), and the descent in jeeps. The fort, built by the Mughal kings in order to defend the Citadel. This complex consists of a group of buildings including a palace and another fortress in a higher position. Visit the Maharaja’s Palace, residence of the royal family of Jaipur, an enclosure full of palaces, gardens and other buildings including the Chandra Mahal, has seven floors high, and inside is the Museum of Haharaja Sawai Man Singh II in which you can see carpets, enameled objects, weapons, paintings with miniatures, cannons and clothes of the maharajas. Then we will visit Jantar Mantar, the astronomical observatory, with a sundial of 30 mt. high and other astronomical instruments of great interest. This is one of the five observatories that exist. Next to this area is located the well-known Palace of the Winds or Hawa Mahal (it is a facade with the structure of a palace) that was used for women to see the processions and the life of the streets. Return to hotel and accommodation.
Day 5. Jaipur-Ranthambore(160 kms, 03 ½ horas)
- Departure to Ranthambore reserve. Arrival and transfer to the hotel. Afternoon game drive to the tiger reserve of Ranthambore National Park. Full board at the hotel. Accommodation.
RANTHAMBORE NATIONAL PARK (Bengal tiger reserve).
Ranthambore is one of the largest national parks in India, extending over an area of 392 km². It is located in the northern region of the country, in the district of Sawai-Madhopur. It is the only forest reserve in the State of Rajasthan and is still home to the real Bengal tigers. The park lies on the edge of a plateau and is bounded on the north by the Banas River and on the south by the Chambal River. It is named after the historic fortress of Ranthambhore, which lies within the park.
The reserve was established as the SawaiMadhopur Game Sanctuary in 1955 by the Government of India and was declared one of the Project Tiger reserves in 1973. It became a national park in 1980. In 1984, the adjacent forests were declared the Sawai Man Singh Sanctuary and Keladevi Sanctuary, and in 1991 the tiger reserve was expanded to include the Sawai Man Singh and Keladevi sanctuaries.
Day 06. Ranthambore
- Tea/coffee with cookies. Departure by jeeps to Ranthambore reserve in the morning. Return to hotel and breakfast. Free time at leisure. Lunch at the hotel. In the evening, second departure by jeeps to the reserve. Return to the hotel and free time. Dinner at the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 7: Ranthambore-Agra (280 kms )
- Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to Agra, arrival and transfer to hotel. In the afternoon we will visit the Red Fort of Agra. Red Fort, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1983. The construction, dating from 1565, is conceived as a walled palace surrounded by a deep-water moat. The fortress, which is accessed from an imposing gate called Amar Singh, contains numerous palaces and stately buildings built by Mughal Emperor Akbar, and used in successive governments of the Mongol Empire as a base of operations of the Mughal power. Day 8. Agra
- Breakfast at the hotel. Today you will visit one of the seven wonders of the world. The Taj Mahal (closed every Friday of the year), the monument that has brought worldwide fame to Agra and has become the symbol of India. The Taj Mahal is a mausoleum that Emperor Shah Jahan had built in 1631 in honor of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, the lady of the Taj, who died giving birth to their fourteenth child in 1629. The construction, which involved 20,000 people, was not completed until 1653. It is the most representative example of Mongolian architecture. The main architect, Isa Khan, designed this complex in a rectangle of 508 by 304 meters with a central garden flanked on four sides by octagonal pavilions. The mausoleum, built entirely in white marble, stands on a marble base with a minaret, also white, in each of the corners that reach 41 meters high each. The central body consists of four small domes that surround a larger one located in the middle. In the crypt of this two-story building lie the remains of this couple. If the architectural ensemble itself is already impressive decoration known as hard stone in which small details such as floral arabesques and geometric motifs in semi-relief with precious stones.
